PCGS – Coins

We present to you the coin grading meaning table, courtesy of PCGS

Standards for grading

Following on from the previous grading table, the following suffixes appear on some of the graded coins, in order to specify the level and condition of the coin

Coins that cannot be graded
There are cases where a currency is not easily identifiable and cannot be verified or graded, and is classified as a “problem currency” / “ambiguous” / “ineligible”
If it is a coin that is under the category of “problematic coin” it will be placed in a PCGS capsule unless it is an exceptional case.
As for coins that belong to the “inconclusive” or “ineligible” group, they will not be graded and will be returned to the customer exactly as they were sent.
It doesn’t matter if the coins are graded or not they will contain a code which in the following table you can see why it is not graded.
Only the coins that were not graded due to code 83 or 89 will not be in the capsule. The rest will be enclosed in a capsule but not graded according to the numbers appearing in the first table
The code shown in the table in front of you will appear on the capsule in the part above the barcode
