1927 banknote, a rare and hard to obtain year, the hardest of the £1 notes
A banknote from year 1927. A rare and difficult year to achieve and especially with such a high grade.
In 1917, the British conquered Israel from the Ottomans and British military rule in Israel began.
The Monetary Council money notes were the first notes issued for Israel (formerly Palestine),
went into circulation on November 1, 1927, and served as a legal process in both Jordan and the Gaza Strip.
The banknote values in the series were 500 Mmiles, 1 , 5 , 10 , 50 and 100 Pounds.
The notes were of different colors, and carried paintings of David’s Tower, the Dome of the Rock,
the White Tower, and Rachel’s Tomb.
