Palestine - 5 Mils 1927 - Minting Erorr, Off Center MInting - Extremely Rare

The item was sold in one of our previous sales, sold for $1,500 not including the auction house fee.

There are not many mistakes in the mandate coins because the British were very strict and if a coin was damaged it would not be circulated in circulation. Most of the errors that nevertheless managed to penetrate the strict inspection "have" relatively insignificant errors that are not easy to notice. Presented to you is a coin with a rare minting error, an unusual and special item of its kind.

MIL, was the Hebrew name of the coin that was legal in Israel during the British Mandate, and then the official name of the coin in the State of Israel until 1952. Observe: Around a central hole, a wreath of olive leaves surounded by "PALESTINE" in English above, Hebrew to left, and Arabic to right; below, the date in English and Arabic numerals. Reverse: Around a central hole, inscriptions "5 MilsS" in English, Arabic and Hebrew, the numeral 5 of the English phrase at top.
