Commission of 10% commission only + VAT on this item
This medal bears an original painting by Marc Chagall which was painted especially for the nature of the medal.
The medal was issued as a donation for the housing crisis in Israel and all its portions were donated to the "Korat Gag" enterprise to obtain a house for young couples.
The face of the medal: the work of Chagall, on the right we see Moses, holding the tablets of the covenant and beside him a five-reed lamp. To the left is Jerusalem with a blooming tree branch. Above the scene appears the inscription "For the Light of the Gentiles" (Isaiah 26). and his signature in Hebrew and English.
The back of the medal: a quote from the prophet Isaiah from which the name of the medal is taken: "I, the Lord, have called you in righteousness and will hold your hand, and I will preserve you and give you to a covenant with a nation, in the light of the Gentiles", in Hebrew 6. On this side, the medal is dated 1979. Above the inscription appears at the place of issue, Jerusalem, in Hebrew and English, and at the bottom the word "Shalom" in Hebrew, Arabic and English.
