Israel - 10 Sheqels 1995 - With a Star - NGC AU DETAILS

Several decades ago, about 25 years ago, about three years after the new ten shekel coins were in circulation. A 10 shekel coin was discovered by chance, but with a Star / Star of David, as in the double-thickness coin embedded in the Israeli medical coin series.
The source of the mistake that led to this coin penetrating the coin coins is that the coin workers in the Netherlands were probably unaware of the difference and put tokens of normal thickness into the coin press. As a result coins with an asterisk were sent as regular coins and entered circulation.
The large number of impressions and the large amount of minting in that year made it difficult to detect the error, in any case the Bank of Israel did not receive any report on this issue and there is no information on the amount of coins issued. As of today, only a few dozen such coins are known out of all those 28,224,000 coins that were issued for circulation in that year
Face: The words "10 new shekels" in Hebrew, Arabic and English; Year of issue in Hebrew; The word "Israel" in Hebrew, Arabic and English; A cluster of dates; Partially grooved along its length, on the left.
Back: Palm yields dates, at the foot of which are two braided baskets with dates inside; the country symbol; The inscription "Lagalat Zion" in Hebrew in modern Hebrew and ancient Hebrew; Pearls along half the circumference of the inner circle; Partially grooved along its length, on the left. Source: Ancient Hebrew coin from 69 AD – the fourth year of the Jewish war against the Romans before the destruction of the Second Temple.
