Israel - 25th Anniversary Declaration of Independence 1973 - Silver 935, 45g, 45mm

State Medal, 5733-1973
During the 25 years since the State of Israel was founded, its population has increased five-fold, scores of cities have been built, hundreds of villages established on land part of which was desolate or desert; agricultural production has risen and a modern industrial complex has won export markets. During these twenty-five years, national security was the major problem and Israel suffered greatly in the loss of life and property-damage during the wars. Despite her victories or the battlefield, however, the quest for peace with her Arab neighbors has not been achieved and remains the most important concern of her State policy.
Obverse
The official emblem of the 25th anniversary observance; the menorah. A ribbon forming the number 25, bears the word "Israel". On the rim underneath in English the legend "Israel’s 25th Anniversary"
Reverse
The twelve signs of the Zodiac seen on the mosaic of a 6th century synagogue floor discovered in Beth Alpha.
