Israel - 25 Mils 1949 - Close Link - NGC AU 58

After the establishment of the state in 1948, and until 1952, the mill (and the pound of Eretz Israel) served as legal tender. The only coin minted in the State of Israel was 25 mils.
Front: "25 mil" with 2 stylish olive branches.
Back: Painted and inscribed: "Israel" and painted a grape cluster.
Of this coin, 650,00 units were minted in Jerusalem and Holon in few diffrent types. On September 6, 1950, the currency ceased to be used as legal tender.
In 1952, with the transition from the Israeli mil to the Israeli pound, the name of the mill was changed to a Pruta.
