In Rabbi Yisrael, about three hundred years before the arrival of the Holy Baal Shem Tov in Mazibuz, members of the community built a synagogue made of wood and stone. In time, the community grew and the synagogue became too small, the members of the community built a new, large and beautiful beit midrash, and the old synagogue was abandoned.
