Judaica / Zionism – David Sarnoff medal commemorating the anniversary of his involvement in the media – 1955
David Sarnoff was a Jewish-American entrepreneur and businessman, a pioneer in the fields of radio and television broadcasting, wireless communication and electronics for entertainment purposes. He founded the NBC broadcast network and headed the electronics giant RCA for five decades until his retirement in 1970. Because of this, and due to the fact that he held the rank of Brigadier General in the Communications Corps, he was nicknamed "The General".
