The face of the medal – "Self-portrait" A colorful lithograph of a self-portrait of Reuven, sitting in front of the easel, against a background of an olive tree and a white dove. Below it is the artist’s signature in Hebrew and English. In the lower part, along the perimeter, the years "1893-1993", on the right the inscription "Reuven painted a hundred years before his birth" and on the left "Reuven Rubin centenary".
The back of the medal – "Saul and David", relief, the work of Reuven – the young David plays the harp at Saul’s feet. At the top, along the perimeter, is the caption "Saul and David."

Reuven Rubin, born in Romania, 1893, came to Israel in 1912 to study at Bezalel. He stayed in the country for a year and returned to Paris. During the First World War he stayed in Romania. Returned to Israel in 1922. His first paintings reflect the renewed feelings of Jewish life in Israel. Later he began to paint the landscapes of the country, and sometimes painted the stories of the Bible. In the 1960s, three lithographic albums were published with the following themes: King David, the visions of the Bible and the prophets. There was also a lot of self-portraits, including quite a few self-portraits.
