Approximately 600,000 storks fly over the skies of Israel twice a year, since the small land bridge of Israel provides one of the most important migration routes in the world. The special relationship between humans and storks has been expressed in many different stories and legends. The stork is known as the "habinger of Spring" as well as the "deliverer of babies", because it chooses to build its own nest close top people.
Storks also nest in high trees on the Israeli landscape. The connection between the two is mentioned in the Book of Psalms "As for the stork, the fir-trees are her house" (Psalms 104:17).
The B.U. Silver Coin was appropriately mounted on a Congratulations for a Birth Greeting Card, designed by Lena Robenko.
