On the 29th of Tammuz, August 4, 1940 at 11:20 PM, the noble heart of Ze’ev Jabotinsky stopped beating. At Camp Betar near New York, he closed his eyes forever. Throughout the world, the Jewish and non-Jewish oress announced the untimely passing of the great Jewish leader, a symbol of the struggle for independence erf the Jewish people. Ze’ev Jabotinsky was buried in New York in accordance with his will, in which he stated frat his remains not be transferred to Palestine "unless by order of that country’s eventual Jewish government". In July 1964, this was ordered by Prime Minister Levi Eshkol and his remains were reburied on Mt. Herzl. Jabotinsky devoted his life to the redemption of his people and its land and was a man of words and action.
