In 1985, following high inflation, it was decided to replace the shekel with the new shekel.
Every 1,000 shekels have become one new shekel to facilitate transactions in the economy.
Observe: a portrait of Maimonides, and in the background – a piece of "Mishnah Torah" in his handwriting;
