Germany - 1 Mark 1943-1944 - Flossenbürg camp - PMG VF 30

Germany – 1 Mark 1943-1944 – Flossenbürg camp – PMG VF 30

The Flossenbürg camp was a concentration camp set up by the Nazis in 1938 in a town of the same name near the city of Weiden, in the Oberpfälzer Wald in Bavaria, near the border with the Sudetenland.
A total of about 90,000 people were imprisoned in the camp, of whom at least 30,000 were murdered. Although the camp was repeatedly expanded, the number of inmates in it was always much higher than the capacity of the camp. Living conditions in the camp were unbearable. Hard labor in the quarries and the inadequate care received by the inmates in the camp, as well as the cruelty of the camp guards and guards, cost many prisoners their lives.
